SAMPLE RESOLUTION

FOR REQUESTING PARK PLANNING ASSISTANCE

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE (CITY/COUNTY) OF ____________, TEXAS TO REQUEST ASSISTANCE IN BASIC SITE PLANNING FOR A (CITY/COUNTY) PARK.

WHEREAS, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department provides a "Local Park Planning Assistance Service" for Cities/Counties whose population does not exceed 17, 500/28,000 inhabitants; and,

WHEREAS, the City/County presently has limited recreational opportunities; and,

WHEREAS, a need exists for park planning assistance without sacrificing monies needed for development; now therefore be it

RESOLVED by the (City Council/County Commissioner’s Court) of the (City/County) of _________, Texas:

That the (Mayor/County Judge) of (City/County is hereby given full authority to make such request as is needed to secure park planning assistance from the Texas Park and Wildlife Department and is vested with full authority to act for purposes of the request, if approved.
